ACT NOW: Stop Bigotry From Being Written Into Missouri Law - Progress Missouri - Take Action Now

ACT NOW: Stop Bigotry From Being Written Into Missouri Law - Progress Missouri - Take Action oNwSchool should be a safe place conducive to learning and it's not only academics. Children learn how to inter act with other children and authority figures. At the same time they are learning about their identity as a person, they experiment with clothing styles, music choices, who they associate with, some even choose to isolate feeling like the don't fit in everywhere. In middle school this is compounded with surging hormones.  Many of these children are confused by the signals their bodies are sending and need guidance and most of all understanding by others who feel the same way or who are trained to help in these situations.  Not discussing the matter, ignoring it will not make it go away or help in any way. The bulling needs to be addressed and ended, and sexual orientation needs to be discussed at an appropriate age, face it children are aware of the differences they need the facts. They also need counselors they can go to for information and even just to have a place to go to to feel safe when they feel threatened.

Please take this seriously.
